Been waiting for a chance to get my hands on this for a while, and it's definitely worth the wait. If I was gonna take the best parts of most of the adventure RPGs I've ever played to make a game, this would be the result.
It shouldn't work, it should fall apart in an incoherent mess of muddled parts, but it all comes together like a game of soggy biscuit. It's like skyrim but with better item management, it's like mass effect without being on rails, it's like fable but with a better combat system. The areas are huge huge but a decent fast travel system takes the sting out of it.
There are negatives but these are just minor things, some of the on screen hints are a bit intrusive and the auto save is hit or miss. And some of the accents seem a little out of place but who am I to say that a gnome can't sound Liverpudlian.
Easily one of my favourite games I've played this year.

Mass effect 2+3
After the 8 playthroughs the first game took to get 1000 gs on, I was expecting a little more from both the sequels....the graphics have been upgraded massively but I feel at the cost of longevity. Both games are shorter than the original and I was sad to see the demise of the planet exploration from the first. Neither game should require as many plays to get the 1000 gs/platinum but after 2 runs on me2 and 1 on me3 im more than happy to give it then a rest before the final push for the completion. There has been a lot of furore about the ending to me3 but in all honesty I have had worse endings and I didn't really have a problem with the one I chose out of the 3 available. I recommend both games to anyone .... Unless you're not a fan of reading, not as text heavy as most RPGs but still enough dialogue to put some people off.

Reboot
Wow...after a long period of inactivity I've managed to get access of my blog again. It's been a crazy few years, I've had to deal with the break up of my relationship with the mother of my children and finances which were never my strongpoint have had to take priority over everything. That said, with the generosity of friends I've managed to keep a steady run of games on the go, far too many to list but will try to keep on top of things from this moment on.
